A touching story of remembrance. Having had a long, loving relationship with my horse, I chose to put him down in his advanced years when his health began to suffer + there was little left for the veterinarians to do. I chose that course in part for this very reason.....I didn't want him being sent to a new home, never sure if he were cared for appropriately and thinking he would be heartbroken missing his barn mates and I. I got a lot of flack for my decision but I have always stood by my choice for him.
