Everything we see, everything we experience, is colored from our own view, our own perspective. I recently purchased a Tennessee Walking Horse with the improbably fancy name of "Lightning in the Dust" but in the barn we call her Trudy. Trudy knows all about shades of gray. On her breeding registration she was was classified as black, her color at birth. But as she's grown to adulthood she is distinctly gray. As I spend time with her and get to know her, I realize how much she is teaching me: about myself, about healing, about growth, about perception. And all about those subtle shades of gray.
This is my attempt to journal some of those lessons as she and I grow - and grow old - together.
