I loved this post! Your sense of humor & truth is refreshing. For those of us who love being outdoors puttering in the yard or stables, sincere usable gifts are very appreciated. My husband-to-be gave me a pair of chrome hay hooks as an engagement present instead of a ring - perfect for our relationship & the hay barn.
And you are so right about Valentine’s Day being a big profit maker for cheesy greeting card companies. I had a Hallmark card shop for a few years in the mid 1990s, the amount of individual cards & trinkets people purchased for Valentine’s Day & Halloween far outnumbered other holidays.
I’m glad your box hedge is doing well! Thank you for sharing, & for caring to send the very best heartfelt Valentine message.
Wonderful choice to have Lynn pinch hit for you, Lee. Although, I do hope to see your words back here soon.
